The use of mathematical models to predict the fire behavior and the load of combustible material constitutes an important tool at fire management. The objective of this study was to estimates of fuel material load and of parameters of fire behavior using of mathematical equations, at area under controlled burns. The prescribed burn accurred in two plots of 10 x 140 m each. For the characterization of the combustible material, destructive sampling was performed in 14 points per plot of 1m2, classified in vivo and dead by diameter class. During the controlled burns the fire behavior variables were obtained and the meteorological conditions were monitored. The mathematical equations were obtained through multiple linear regression using the stepwise procedure.
